Due to the process when the water-resistant coating is formed, water-resistant bead pins always have slightly dark areas. 
When two needles cross and overlap each other, a contact point is formed.
Since coating is a galvanizing process (physical process) carried out in a vacuum, non-chemical solvent environment, this contact point cannot be penetrated, so a darker black spot will be left at the contact point of the two needles.

So you will find that these bead pins have dark areas, however, this is completely insignificant.
