Keshi freshwater pearls are another type of freshwater pearls, characterized by their incredible luster.
In appearance and shape, they can somewhat resemble baroque freshwater pearls, but where a keshi freshwater pearl stands out is in the extraordinary luster that each individual pearl possesses.
Another aspect where keshi freshwater pearls differ from others is that they are often produced by chance. Often, pearls are cultured, which means humans have had a hand in the production of freshwater pearls. In the case of keshi freshwater pearls, humans have not inserted mollusk tissue into the shell. Here, freshwater pearls form by an "accident," meaning nothing is inserted into the shell to kickstart the pearl production process.
