Miyuki Seed Beads - RR 4463, Duracoat Opaque Lychee (11/0)

Opaque beads are opaque with a pure, solid color and no translucency. The color comes from the glass itself, giving a strong and uniform color expression in your beadwork.

Durability: High. When the beads are opaque without dyed color, the color will stay beautiful over time without fading. Be aware that some opaque beads may be "opaque dyed" — where the color has been added externally and is therefore more sensitive to sun and chemicals.

Best for: Everyday jewelry, embroidery, designs where you want clear and durable colors.

Duracoat® is Miyuki's own patented protective coating — a thicker and stronger clear coating than traditional surface finishes. It is typically applied on top of dyed or galvanized beads to make them significantly more resistant.

Durability: High. Duracoat protects against scratches, fading from sunlight, and chemical wear from things like perfume and lotion. Note that Duracoat improves durability — but doesn't provide 100% protection, so it's still a good idea to avoid getting the beads wet and keep them away from direct sunlight when storing.

Best for: Jewelry for everyday use, bracelets and necklaces that are exposed to wear, projects where you want to ensure the color lasts for years.
