About this color type

The bead itself is a glass bead where the surface is coated with genuine 24 karat gold. Unlike gold-colored Galvanized beads or Duracoat Galvanized in gold tones, Gold Plated is coated with genuine precious metal. This gives the bead a deeper, more authentic gold look than any other gold-colored finish from Miyuki. The most well-known variant is code 191 ("24kt Gold Plated"), which has a high, glossy quality.

Visually, you get a warm, genuine gold shimmer with an intensity that rivals real gold jewelry. Light is reflected as in real metal, and the beads work fantastically as an accent or main element in designs where you want an authentic gold look – without investing in real gold beads.
