Opelon differs from many other elastic cords in that it is flat and slightly elastic. This means a crimp bead can get a better grip than on a completely round, smooth elastic cord.

  • Only crimp the crimp bead once with an even pressure – too much pressure can damage the elastic.
  • It's a good idea to test the stretch before using the jewelry.

Many jewelry designers use the combination of Opelon + crimp beads instead of knots, especially when they want a neat finish.
