Opelon® is a popular choice among jewelry designers because the cord is durable, easy to work with and gives a beautiful result. The black color goes perfectly with dark beads, gemstones and modern jewelry designs

Opelon differs from many other elastic cords in that it is flat and slightly elastic. This allows a crimp bead to get a better grip than on a completely round, smooth elastic cord.

However, there are a few things you should be aware of:

  • Use small crimp beads that match the thickness of Opelon.
  • Crimp the crimp bead only once with even pressure – too much pressure can damage the elastic.
  • It's a good idea to test the tension before using the jewelry.

Many jewelry designers specifically use the combination of Opelon + crimp beads instead of knots, especially when they want a neat finish.
