Alabaster beads are translucent with an opal-like, soft exterior. Light partially passes through, giving a creamy, milky glow that resembles genuine alabaster stone.

Durability: High — if the bead is non-dyed. When the color comes from the opal-like glass itself, it stays true over time. Alabaster beads can also be dyed or color-lined, in which case durability depends on the color layer.

Best for: Romantic and soft designs, bridal jewelry, nature-inspired projects, classic beadwork.

Silverlined Dyed beads are silver-lined beads that have had a color added from the outside. This allows Miyuki to create intense pink tones, deep purple shades, and fluorescent neon colors — combined with the shimmering effect of the silver core.

Durability: Low to medium. The dyed color can fade from sun exposure, sweat, and chemicals. The inner silver core lasts, but the outer color layer is vulnerable.

Best for: Earrings, bead embroidery, decorative projects, and party jewelry where the beads aren't exposed to constant skin contact or UV light.
