About this color type

Opaque Matte beads have a matte, non-reflective surface on a solid opaque base color. The glossy surface is etched to appear frosted, giving a soft, muted look — same color, completely different look than regular opaque.

Durability: High. The color is permanent in the glass. The matte finish can be polished smooth with heavy wear over the years, but otherwise holds up well.

Best for: Modern, minimalist designs, scandi-inspired looks, combinations with matte stones and natural materials.

Opaque Luster beads have a glossy, mother-of-pearl-like sheen layered on top of a solid opaque base color. The effect resembles finely glazed ceramics or polished porcelain — a pleasant depth without becoming too shiny.
