The color type Color Lined means that the beads have a transparent exterior with a colored core. This gives a beautiful depth and a lively play of color. With techniques such as bead weaving and peyote, the transparent sides can, however, make the beads look slightly smaller next to fully opaque beads. This is most noticeable on regular seed beads and less visible on Delica beads.

Durability: Low to medium. The inner color layer is typically dyed and can fade when exposed to sun, sweat, and chemicals. Color-lined is more durable than plain surface coloring, but still requires care.
