TOHO Seed Beads have landed in the shop

One of the biggest pieces of news is that, for the first time, we have become a retailer of the popular TOHO Seed Beads. TOHO is a Japanese brand that, like Miyuki, focuses on high quality and razor-sharp measurements, where the beads are quality-checked throughout the entire production process so they become as uniform as possible.

This also means that you actually get a bit more for your money with TOHO – without compromising on quality.

TOHO and Miyuki are, of course, not quite the same. There is a small size difference, especially around the hole size, which makes the beads stand out from one another. It's worth keeping in mind if you combine them in the same project.

Larger Selection of Long-Lasting Silver-Plated Jewelry Findings

Another novelty is the expansion of our range of long-lasting silver-plated jewelry findings. This April, you've been able to see a significantly larger selection, and this is a trend we intend to continue – especially at a time when precious metal prices are as high as they are.

The long-lasting silver plating is a really great alternative: You get the beautiful silver color from 925 silver, plated onto a base typically made of brass or steel. A beautiful solution that lasts a long time, without the big price jump.

Preciosa MAXIMA crystal stones

We are also excited to present our newest addition: Preciosa MAXIMA crystal stones. The stones are manufactured by the Czech company Preciosa and are a popular alternative to genuine crystals and Swarovski crystals.

MAXIMA stones are known for their exceptional brilliance, which is due to the precise faceting. Thanks to a unique manufacturing process, they are also remarkably durable. They can be used in countless ways – from jewelry such as rings and earrings to costumes, clothing, and much more.

Gold

  1. Clean gold regularly using a simple mixture of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap.
  2. Use a soft toothbrush or a jewelry cleaning brush to gently scrub the jewelry.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  4. Keep gold jewelry away from chemicals, such as chlorine, that can discolor it.
  5. Store gold pieces separately in a jewelry box to avoid scratches.

Silver

  1. Clean silver with a special silver cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth.
  2. Use a small amount of silver jewelry cleaner or a paste made of baking soda and water for stubborn tarnish.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely to prevent water stains.
  4. Store silver in a cool, dry place, preferably in a separate compartment or soft cloth bag.
  5. Limit exposure to air and moisture to prevent discoloration.

Sterling silver

  1. Use a microfiber cloth or a special silver cloth to remove light discoloration.
  2. Use a professional silver cleaner for heavier tarnishing.
  3. Always rinse thoroughly and dry before storing, as detergent residue can lead to more discoloration.
  4. Store sterling silver in an airtight bag to limit air exposure.
  5. Minimize contact with household chemicals, cosmetics and body lotions.

Brass

  1. Clean brass jewelry with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.
  2. Use a brass cleaner or a homemade mixture of lemon juice and baking soda for deeper cleaning.
  3. Always dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water stains.
  4. Keep brass away from high humidity and avoid wearing it in the shower or swimming pool.
  5. Use a sealer to prevent the brass from discoloring if you prefer.

Stainless steel

  1. Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to clean stainless steel.
  2. Dry with a clean towel to avoid water stains.
  3. Use a jewelry cleaning cloth for extra shine after drying.
  4. Store separately to avoid scratches.
  5. It is generally safe to wear stainless steel in the shower or swimming pool, but chlorine and salt water can be harmful over time.

Remember, it is always best to remove all types of jewelry before going to bed, participating in physical activity, or doing tasks that involve harsh chemicals. And, when in doubt, consult a professional jeweler for cleaning and care instructions.
