The bead itself is a glass bead where the surface is coated with genuine 24 karat gold. Unlike gold-colored Galvanized beads or Duracoat Galvanized in gold tones, Gold Plated is coated with genuine precious metal. This gives the bead a deeper, more authentic gold look than any other gold-colored finish from Miyuki. The most well-known variant is code 191 ("24kt Gold Plated"), which has a high, glossy quality.

Visually, you get a warm, genuine gold shimmer with an intensity that rivals real gold jewelry. The light reflects as in real metal, and the beads work fantastically as an accent or main element in designs where you want an authentic gold expression – without investing in real gold beads.

  • Durability: Requires consideration – the gold plating can wear from friction and skin contact, but is more durable than regular Galvanized
